Looking Forward to 2026

I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season, and Merry Christmas. Our home has been full of love, rest, and togetherness over the past few weeks, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. I hope your season has been filled with the same warmth and meaning as we pause, reflect, and prepare to step into a new year.

As we close out 2025 and look ahead to 2026, I find myself thinking about what the new year will hold. If I’m being completely honest, life as a homeschool entrepreneur family is always a little unpredictable. I can tell you what I think it’s going to look like—but don’t hold me to it. Things shift, priorities change, and we adjust as we go. That flexibility is part of the lifestyle we’ve chosen.

The last couple of weeks have felt like a much-needed reset and reprieve. It’s always refreshing to step away from the constant motion of sports schedules, lessons, and commitments. We paused music lessons, dance lessons, and formal schooling the week before Thanksgiving and leaned into a slower pace. Even though we stepped away from textbooks, learning didn’t stop. We focused heavily on reading, which is something I always come back to as a foundation, no matter the season.

As we move forward, we’ll be diving back into more formal schooling. My older kids wrapped up their language arts curriculum right before the break, so they’ll be starting the next level soon. My younger two are close to finishing theirs as well and will likely move on to their next level by February. Math will continue as usual—my older three are using IXL Learning, while Isaac, in second grade, is working through The Good and the Beautiful. We’re also using The Good and the Beautiful for language arts, and it’s been a great fit for our family.

Music continues to be a big part of our rhythm. All of the kids are taking piano lessons, and the girls are in choir. Isaac has been participating as well, and I expect he’ll continue. Ivan is hoping to take a class through pod school, possibly something focused on rhythm and musical development. I do see our older two returning to pod school for their age group sessions, and overall, pod school has been something we’ve really enjoyed as part of our homeschool journey.

For me, I’ll be scaling back just a bit. I taught two lessons a week this past season, which was ambitious and incredibly fun, but with my business growing, I need to simplify in other areas. I’m planning to teach one group lesson a week instead, bring all the kids with me again, and have my younger two stay for additional classes. There are three classes per day per age group, and it’s been a really positive experience for all of us.

As the new year settles in, winter will bring snowboarding and skiing season. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a great skier, but the rest of the family loves it. Spending time on the mountain has actually given me something to look forward to during winter. I tend to struggle with the winter blues—the darkness and the cold—but being outside and active together has made a big difference, and I’m genuinely excited for that time.

Beyond schooling, life will continue at its full pace. I’ll still be teaching at the dance studio and running my jewelry business, which has been seeing encouraging growth. I want to keep that momentum going. Blogging, podcasting, and creating content will continue as well. I finally feel like I’ve found a sustainable rhythm between all of these pieces, and that feels really good.

I do want to say this clearly—please don’t put me on a pedestal or think I’m doing all of this on my own. I’m not. I’ve hired help, and that has made all the difference. Without that support, none of this would be possible, and I’m incredibly grateful for it.

Looking ahead to winter and spring, I have several jewelry collections planned, new blog content coming, and homeschool resources in the works. I’ll be refining the human anatomy and world geography lessons I recently taught and turning them into digital downloads to share. I’m really looking forward to offering those resources in the coming months. Dance competition season will start, schedules will fill up again, and life will keep moving forward.

It’s a busy, full life—and one I’m deeply grateful for. We’re working hard to build our businesses, raise our family intentionally, and step into the new year with gratitude and hope. I’m thankful for the opportunity to start fresh and excited to see what 2026 brings.
