Wrapping up Summer

Life Lately

Have you officially wrapped up summer? The days are cooling off, 100 degree temps are gone and the leaves are starting to fall. Are you ready for the change in the season?

As we wrapped up summer, I had mixed feelings. Summer was different with Chris working. We realized just how fortunate we have been in the past to be able to take off to the mountains for a day of paddle boarding. We managed to escape up to McCall for one day. We are looking forward to the day when we can be self employed again. That’s still the goal, but goodness it’s hard to make it happen again.

While Chris and I are still deciding and working toward future financial and business goals, he did get the Tesla fixed! Remember how it started? Well, he’s got it looking and driving as good as new. The verdict is still out on whether we will keep it or not. It sure is fun to drive, but we don’t need a third vehicle. So we are currently undecided. It may end up sold soon.

This was one of the many topics we discussed while out on our date night. We celebrated 15 years married, and 20 years together this past August! A long over due date to the temple was throughly enjoyed. He also indulged me with a little thrift shopping and then of course dinner and dessert.

We rang in labor day weekend with a day trip to the mountains. Spring Creek is only about an hour from home and gives that pine forest, creek running down the mountain setting that is so good for the soul. We took the camping essentials, hot dogs and s’mores. Did some hiking and my little pyromaniac child got his campfire fix. Found some bugs, walked in the creek, relaxed. It was a great way to close out summer.

We finally started school. To some it seemed like a late start. Labor day to memorial day seems like a good timeline to me. The joy of homeschooling, choosing your own schedule. Homeschooling has become such frequent topic of conversation for me, I decided to start a podcast! It officially launched. Learning the ropes for launching a podcast has been a bit stressful, but I’m getting the hang of it.

More and more I find myself immersed in conversations with friends or strangers about homeschooling. Answering questions from how to teach multiple kids, capacity of the mother, and why I homeschool. A podcast is a perfect platform to begin breaking down all these questions. I am looking forward to seeing where this journey takes me. One of the biggest goals that I have with this podcast is to help mothers see how capable they are. That mothers are meant to be teachers and it may not be easy, but they do have the capacity to teach their children. I hope to ignite a flame of confidence in mothers and their journey as a mom.

You know another way, I believe, to help women and mothers feel like their most confident self, is to get ready for the day! And that includes some fun jewelry! In August I dropped a mini collection and it has the most dreamy and versatile pieces.  I have started designing my anniversary collection. It will launch in October! Make sure to watch for it.

I sure hope that you enjoyed your summer and are settling into fall. I want to thank you for sticking with me. The jewelry, the podcast, even this blog! It all seems like a dream. Thank you for being my cheerleader and supporter. I appreciate you.
