Life Lately at the Rios’

Time flies! Where has the summer gone? As we head into August, let’s catch up on what the Rios family has been up to lately.

As we ended June, Ivan wrapped up his baseball season with a championship win in a two day tournament. Nothing says summer quite like a ball game under the lights on a warm summer evening. He pitched and played first base this season. If you are looking for the perfect way to show your love for baseball, our Fenway Necklace is the way to do that!

Eliana was able to attend her first year of church youth summer camp. She absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back next year. It was hard to say goodbye for the week and her siblings missed her like crazy. But overall it was a great experience for her and we are so happy she got to experience it.

Emelia was baptized, we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When children turn eight, they can choose to be baptized (or any age after 8). We are so proud of her choice and so grateful for her testimony of the Savior.

Chris bought a Tesla…

Know I know what you are thinking. Nice right?! It will be when he’s finished with it, but this is what he started with.

The family took a trip up to northern Idaho. I’ve lived in the state for 27 years an this is the first time I’ve been up north! The scenery was absolutely stunning and it was a highlight of our summer. I will break down what we did on this trip in a separate post (coming soon) so that you can have all the details and plan your own trip to northern Idaho!

We’ve had so much fun in the sun and the water, with plenty of treats to keep us cool. I don’t think we are ready for summer to end. Although a break from constant high temps over 100 degrees and smoke from the fires would be nice. Idaho and Oregon are experiencing terrible wild fires this summer. We are not close to any danger, for that we are so grateful.

We ended the month with a trip to the zoo and some shopping at thrift stores. It is so fun to have the kids be at ages that they are fun to shop with! I remember when they were younger and my goal was to just not lose anyone. We’ve graduated from that stage, minus the baby.

Chris and I a finally ready to spill the tea on what we were working on earlier in the summer. We officially have our first short term rental property! (Air Bnb) We came on an opportunity to become host at the beginning of June. It took a couple weeks of work to get the property furnished and decorated, and our first guests came June 1st. We finally feel like we’ve been able to catch our breath a little and work out the kinks that come with doing some thing new. We are excited and hope it continues to go well. I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer so far and have a few more fun activities to squeeze in before school starts! And when it does, we’ve got the cutest earrings that are perfect for cheering on your favorite player or performer. Check out our Pep Rally Collection here!
